. The boat was purchased used in 2015, and was completely refitted including the installation of a Mallinson twin engine during the winter of 2015-2016. The original York engine was sold to a boater in California. The boat is operated each summer season in Connecticut, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Canada and Massachusetts. Occasionally in the great state of Maine. A GPS unit permenantly mounted in the hull provides a live speed readout and computes miles traveled which has been about 300 miles per year.

This is one of just two Mallinson engines located in the States. It was built in 2005 and has been stored in a barn for ten years. The spring of 2016 will be the first time under steam for this engine.

Propeller

Bronze, 3 blades, Right Hand, 20" X 30"
Shaft: 1-1/4" Stainless Steel
Elliott Bay "steam" prop. I have tested a dozen or more props over the years, and this one is by far the best performing, especially at slow or mid-range RPMs.

End of day and time to give the steam lance a chance to do it's job. A steady wind across the gunnels is a help to keep the boat in good order.


Operating on the St. Lawrence Seaway in US waters one mile from Canada. Boat was doing circles waiting for another launch to free itself off of a ledge. That granite is so unforgiving.
